I started my venture into the Martial arts with ÒPark InstituteÓ at the Austin Y.M.C.A in the 8th grade. After a long break, I resumed my training at ÒMidwest AcademyÓ with Master Glen Morgan in 1991 where I earned my 2nd Dan black belt and also my instructors Certification. I now attend class under the guidance of Mr. Lance Schutjer.

 

Advice for students. Never give up! I have overcome many things to be where I am at, such as Asthma and knee problems. If I were having a problem with a certain kick for example, I would keep at it until I got it right.

 

Remember, you get out of Tae Kwon Do exactly what you put into it. Also remember there is always something new to learn and always some technique you can improve even after Black Belt. You never stop learning which means to me there is always some way to push myself to be better, not only in the Martial arts but in life!

 

I know I still have much to learn and I am excited about what the future in the Martial Arts holds!
